Nueva Córdoba’s urban planning began with the design of Sarmiento Park, overseen by architect Carlos Thays (Bosques de Palermo, Parque 3 de Febrero), and Avenida Hipólito Yrigoyen, which starts at the current Plaza Velez Sarsfield and ends at Plaza España, emulating the French boulevards of Paris created by Hausmann. Today, the beauty of some buildings that still survive the passage of progress showcases the majesty of the facades of the first houses that populated this area, now turned into a traditional neighborhood of Córdoba.
